Rise (2017)

A story of a well-settled software engineer at a reputed firm, we see Massey's character, Shrey live out the quintessential work woes to come fractionally close to his dream of living the biker's life. Despite his hard work, he is unceremoniously fired and made to question all that he believes he has achieved. Right when he begins to cower back into despondency, life sends him on a soul-searching road trip with his friend's 55-year-old relative, the most unlikely pillion ever. How they bond despite the ideological differences, break out of their instilled mould and become free in the purest sense of the word sums up the tale.

This only goes on to prove that destiny will prevail when we lose our way.

It is a show about dreams , revival and resolution. Shrey (Vikram Messay) is an IT program tester (so briefly described in the show) got fired on the same day he bought his 8 lacs rupees bike on installments . This drastic change left him question his own identity . TBH the show is boring in the pilot episodes . Pauses between the dialogues are less of character defining and more of vague cringe-worthy silences. The most negative aspect of the show is its unwanted long running time . But if somehow you manages to go further in series you will feel the emotions of Shrey. The good thing about the show is relevancy with the real life struggles. There is one scene in the second episode where shrey takes 12 minutes to splutter out his frustration about IT sector's nuisance makes me wanna pause the show. Just like the character transforms in the show on the road trip the show also transforms in coming episodes.

All of us have a lot of plans for the future, lot of aspirations and dreams! Quite often it happens so that whenever we are seeking what we want the most in life, things don't go the way they are supposed to. Rise is about a similar individual Shrey, who dares to dream big but life throws disappointment towards him.
'When life throws a lemon at you, make lemonade.' This is exactly what Shrey does. He makes the best of his worst and 'rises' stronger than ever. A must-watch for all those who feel that they are surrounded by bad circumstances. An inspirational, near to reality and well-written series!
