Even though Salman has put his best efforts to be a non macho or simply being a 'human', the film is simply a classic case of misdirection, be it the cast, scale or positioning. Kabir khan should have been brave enough to take more of a indie approach, with two real 20s blokes(and not two 50 year olds), a simpler scale and relatable settings. The music is average and the film never hits any high. Opportunity wasted. However IMHO Salman does deserve some cookies for his performance. Rather wait for @Tigerzindahai

Movie Review: The Mummy (minor spoiler)]

2. A highly underwhelming transformation of Dr. Jeckyll
3. A horrible cast for a villain
I really enjoyed the first 2 mummy films. The lead pair was energetic and the villain menacing. I found the film adventurous and 'shocking'/'amazing'. The legend of 'curse' and 'the mummy' sent shivers down the spine of 10 year old me then. But this one, is a big let down. The villain is horribly cast, and poorly written.

The film is neither scary nor a action fest. It tries to set up the dark universe but fails to lay a memorable foundation. Meh!

PS: I was hoping for a Dracula reference at the end of the film ( he too bit by a curse) but unfortunately and stupid on behalf of Universal, there is no Dracula in Dark universe.

This is a classic case of "Well begun is not half done". The film, though starts well, loses steam after first 30 minutes. It does a considerable effort to introduce half a dozen side characters but then forgets them, neither working on building their characters nor their presence in the story. Brad Pitt is awesome, and that's it. We have seen better films on War, better characters and better stories with depth which really strum the right chords when it comes to politics and the business of war.

The film deals with a highly relevant and relatable subject. The charm lies in its simplicity where it never goes over the top ( except for the Step Up-esqe dance number in the end which is indigestible) . The characters are simple and so is the plot where even the solution shines out. There are several subtle elements which makes this film worth to pause (how we get rich and individualistic) and think about and at times laugh too, while it stays away from being political. However, I would have loved if a certain stern stand was taken on the issue such as the debate over RTE in private schools vs improving standards of government schools and of course profiteering. Though,
one does appreciate the class divide based on language and condescending treatment of local language speakers . Irrfan shines so do the other actors. A good watch.

The man, the myth, the legend returns only this time merciless, blood-lust, hungrier though still calm and stylish. A cliffhanger ending give way to a highly inevitable sequel, and we are more than just excited for it.

lacks the rawness of the past few iterations. They are simply stretching it, beating a dead horse, milking the cow till she dies. I wonder what next? Because I am no more excited...

2014 and out of blue GOG rescued the superhero genre from its deathbed of monotony. GOGV2 is suffering from the same disease: a typical villain who wants to destroy the world for no reason, redoing 110% what worked in the first part, justifying presence of every character, putting new needless ones, merely existing just to complete a trilogy... all you have seen before. duh!!!

Apparently this movie is the highest earning Chinese film ever till date and I thought to give it a shot [ I don't speak Chinese).
I was expecting huge set pieces with high octane Kung fu fight sequences but this had none of it. It was a pretty simple love story and except for the climax, their was nothing to be in awe with. I still wonder how it made so much money!!! However it carries a nice message and has a #FeelGood ending. The salty film leaves a sweet taste in your mouth.

Its Big. It has iconic screen-grabs which can be printed into mile long posters and put up as emblem of triumph of Indian cinema(not just Telugu). The film puts a valiant effort to live up to the reputation and hype and it does a fine job without falling into the cliche`d sequel traps ; most importantly 'arrogance' and 'narcissism.'
It is definitely #mustWatch in theatres to just seep in the awesomeness and #extravagance of the film, especially Baahubali(not his son though, he seems a mere shadow). It is bit on a lengthy side and the second act could have been trimmed and a very important plot point could have been tightened as it suffered from incongruent assumptions. But the third act makes up for the lost cause. Not as good as the first one, but still an achievement in its own.

The film remains in its humble boundaries, nothing over the top and that comes out its strength. I wish the makers cast a better villain, but it works. Definitely better than Raees.
