Suspiria Plot
A candy-colored nightmare from Italian terror maestro Dario Argento, Suspiria weaves a menacing tale of witchcraft as a fairy tale gone horribly awry. From the moment she arrives in Freiberg, Germany, to attend the prestigious Tans Academy, American ballet-dancer Suzy Bannion (Jessica Harper) senses that something horribly evil lurks within the walls of the age-old institution.

It was horror, alright! An absolute horror to even imagine I sat through this movie. I've heard about over-rated movies but nothing, I mean nothing, has ever come close to Suspiria in that regard. For a while I thought I was the problem, like I was missing something. Something all these people who gave it these five star reviews seems to have understood. But all I could see was a weak story struggling to compensate for terrible acting and terrible dialog delivery while the technicolor visuals went haywire with bloodlust. Watching it once is one too many. |
