Once Plot
The Guy is a Dublin guitarist/singer-songwriter who makes a living by fixing vacuum cleaners in his Dad's Hoover repair shop by day, and singing and playing for money on the Dublin streets by night. The Girl is a Czech who plays piano when she gets a chance, and does odd jobs by day and takes care of her mom and her daughter by night.

Breathtakingly poignant musical romance
Once is a movie that arrests your attention right from the first scene when Glen Hansard's voice shakes you up in the first song. The pain in his voice is evident even before you know anything about the movie. From there on, we are introduced to the little world of two nameless musicians who bond over music.
Once is a movie made on shoe string budget using cheap cameras and that adds a new layer of visual aesthetics to the proceedings. The two lead actors do a wonderful job. Hansard is a lovable heart-broken guy and Markéta Irglová plays the charming heroine. The movie is further enhanced by a stupendous soundtrack with the Oscar winning song "Falling Slowly" getting firmly etched... |
