    • MUST WATCH
    • REVOLUTIONARY
    Struggles of a purist
Inside Llewyn Davis is a 2013 movie directed by the visionary, modern masters Coen brothers. Inside Llewyn Davis is a very distinctive movie from Coens earlier works yet has some very familiar features which includes metaphorical themes.
The movie revolves around the central character Llewyn Davis, who is a very talented and passionate musician but has an awful luck and is not motivated enough to take the step to become the star he truly can. He is not ready to sell out his music for music. He considers himself a purist, which in turn holds him back throughout the course of the movie.
The movie is very metaphorical so one needs to pay attention to the very minute details to fully appreciate the movie. For instance throughout the movie Llewyn is carrying a cat which he has no relation to, this a subtle representation of his own career.
Oscar Isaac has done a phenomenal job in essaying the character of Llewyn Davis, who by no means is a likeable character but still one cannot stop sympathizing with him. The supporting cast are brilliant in their own short roles which includes the highly talented Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Justin Timberlake. The cinematography is gorgeous, the background score is outstanding and the folk music is cherry on top.

    A Forgettable mess
After the success of Hunger games, there has been a surge in making movies out of Dystopian novels. The maze runner is one of them. Despite an interesting concept the film falls in recreating the tense and engrossing atmosphere of Hunger games. There are new twists at various intervals but have little logical explanation. The bizarre climax certainly doesn't help the cause

    A tale of Friendship
Set in the beautiful Rajasthan, It tells the story of two child, Kalam and Rannvijay. Kalam is from family and works in a local shop, he is a bright kid and has a great desire to learn while Rannvijay is from a Royal family and all the comforts he needs. These two from an unlikely friendship and how it changes their lives forms the story. The performances are all top notch with Harsh Mayar who plays the role of Kalam steals the show with his innocence. The direction is spot on, the cinematographer needs a special mention for capturing Rajasthan in all its glory and beauty.

    • BEST OF THRILLER
    A Horror classic
John carpenter's The Thing is a horror classic. Its fast paced, chilling, and #bestOfThriller. The movie takes in antarctic where a research camp is situated. The group of scientists comes across an Alien creature which can manifest into any living being and takes its form and shape. The special effects or rather practical effects are incredible and revolutionary for a movie set in the 1980s. Kurt Russell is in the lead and gives a typical Kurt Russell performance. Even after three decades of its release the movie still offers plenty of moments and has certainly aged well.

    One for all ages
Sidney Lumet's debut movie is a masterpiece. The film showcases all the talents of Lumet which made him a director of the finest caliber. The film is set in one location for most part barring the opening sequence and the climax. The film revolves around 12 jury members who have been tasked with determining whether a young has committed a crime or not. The conversations between the jury members are outstanding and helps in keeping the audience glued to the sit. Many of the jury members have prejudiced views and how it changes or not forms the rest of the plot.

    Existential crisis
Rajat Kapoor directed national award winning movie is not only a #thoughtProvoking movie but also very entertaining at the same time. The story is about an "aam aadmi" who one fine decides that he will believe in things which he sees through his own eyes. This divides his family, while outsiders make him sort of an enlightened one and soon he has followers. As the story progresses more and more existential questions are asked by Sanjays character and this leads to various satirical moments. I would give this four stars out of five and definitely a

DDLJ of the 2000s, well not really
Imtiaz ali's breakout hit was a favourite among the teenagers when it released, looking back it now while one can imagine why it was such a huge hit. It is a well made movie on the surface targetted at the youth but it just doesn't have the same charm as that of DDLJ plus Shahid is no SRK nor Kareena is anywhere near the impeccable Kajol

    Watchable but not memorable
Set in ancient Italy it tells a fictionalized story of the great Leonardo Da Vinci. It revolves around Da Vinci's early life before he become the well know legend we all know. The politics within the Rome is mixed with the story to provide drama. Fantasy adventure will like the show but the general audience will find it hard to digest

A honest performance from Aaron Paul cant save it
Despite a tidy performance from Aaron Paul, this movie falls short of expectations. The story is filled with age old cliches and fails to maintain audience's attention. The racing scenes are dull and doesn't provide the adrenaline rush which was expected from a movie named Need for spped. in short this one is a dull mess
