A film is incomplete without a villain in it. People never like a movie with a very blunt story line they always seek for twists and turns in a movie which only a villain could deliver. Villains have made a very strong impact on viewer’s these days than the heroes themselves they have won millions of hearts with their glamor and yet ruthless character. Over the years Villains have created such standards for which they can’t be ignored and have contributed so much that sometimes people start envying the villains. So let’s have a look at them:
1. Heath Ledger
With many ups and downs in his life, Heath Ledger is widely known for his magnificent role in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight The Joker. No one can ever forget the contribution this man has made with his outstanding performance as Lord Voldemort in J.K.Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince . He is one of the most ruthless villains the crowd has ever seen. Voldemort has thrilled us with his evil aims and motives. Be it any of the books of Harry Potter, people had always eagerly waited for Voldemort to make his appearance. 3. Robert Englund
Undoubtedly, one of the most magnetic characters in Hollywood’s Horror movie history is Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street which gave people chills down their spine. The movie released Thirty-Three years ago but still has not lost his ability to give Goosebumps to the viewers. Freddy’s method of killing is downright evil and disturbing that will surely haunt you at night.
4. Christian Bale
He is well known for his character in Batman but other than Batman he played an evil role in American Psycho as Patrick Bateman.
Patrick Bateman is a Wall Street investment banker who lives a double life which includes drugs, cocaine and also serial killings. Bateman is a very wealthy investment banker who is perceived as a sociopath who likes killing people to get rid of his boredom. His crimes are beyond imagination and could give people chills; He is involved in crimes like rapes, torture, necrophilia and cannibalism.
5. Javier Bardem
The one thing which villains are not expected to do is stealing the hearts of the audience and grabbing their attention towards themselves rather than the hero of the movie but Javier Bardem did the exact opposite and stole lots of hearts with his mind-blowing performance.
Javier Bardem played the character of Raoul Silva in Skyfall . His cruel and ruthless character has gained the attention of crowd more than James Bond could gather. Raoul Silva is a cyber-terrorist and was a member of Secret Intelligence Service: The betrayal of an agent who was indulged in many terrorist attacks is the crux of his story.
6. Samuel L. Jackson
He is best known for his contribution into one of the biggest franchise in Hollywood and that is non-other than the Avengers. Although in Avengers he played a role of a director of a peacekeeping organization i.e. S.H.I.E.L.D.S but he never avoided movies in which he could play as the bad guy.
And that’s right; here I am talking about a movie whose sequel is going to be out soon and for which fans are excited to the core. The movie is non-other than Kingsman: The Secret Service. Samuel L. Jackson played a negative role as Richmond Valentine who wants nothing but destruction and chaos between people. He is a wealthy technology tycoon and a computer genius who tries to change the world by providing free sim cards to the public, to which the people were unknown of what the sim was capable of. The sim could activate their inner evil which makes them to get violent and to kill each other. Valentine smartly plays his card which made a huge number of killings caused because of just a tiny sim.
Valentine was surely a very hi-tech and yet smart villain that people have ever seen these days.
7. Anthony Hopkins
Anthony Hopkins is the person behind the mask of Hannibal Lecter in the The Silence of the Lambs Dr. Hannibal Lecter is a character was introduced in the series of novels by Thomas Harris and later became the focal point in Silence of the Lambs. The character played by Anthony was cannot be less appreciated as it was one of the most flawless roles.
When coming to villains nothing can stop Hannibal not to come into this category as he was one of the scariest, wicked and villainous character who has never shown mercy to his prey. Hannibal is one such villain which no one can afford to miss.
